Understanding the criterion

About Task Response.

Task Response concerns how the complete Task 2 essay addresses the question, explains its position and develops relevant ideas. An opening can signpost coverage; the body must carry it through. These drills practise those decisions with illustrative prompts and arguments, rather than assigning a band to an isolated sentence.

Can I disagree with the question in IELTS Writing Task 2?
Yes. You can agree, disagree or give a qualified position. Address what the question asks, explain your reasoning and make the final position clear. Nuance is useful when the reader can follow it.
What does address all parts of the task mean?
Identify the requests in the actual wording. Discuss both views and give your opinion asks for all three; a problems-and-remedies question needs both. Plan and review coverage across the full essay, without treating each part as a separately scored task.
How do I develop an idea instead of repeating it?
Explain why or how the claim could work, illustrate it with a relevant example, or discuss a supported consequence. Use the method that serves the argument. A short recap can also be useful; development does not require a fixed sentence recipe.

Drills teach the rule. Essays prove it.

When a drill feels easy, write a full essay and see whether TR holds up under exam pressure.
